WE’D RATHER HAVE A HUG THAN A HANDSHAKE THE time-honoured tradition of greeting someone with a handshake is losing its grip – because it is now considered too formal.
Britons are increasingly ditching it in favour of a casual hug or a Continental-style kiss. Full StoryI will happly hug or kiss an attractive young woman , or not so young if she is attractive But a man NO! NO! NO! All man and unattractive women can make do with a handshake

Maybe very dear friends, family, understandable. Even then I am not a very hug-sy person or a peck on the cheek person. P.s : Long time since I logged in here. Just wanted to say hello to all lovely people here. Hope you are all doing great. Peter, Lagenda, Barney McGrew, NedLong, Sheriff - a big hello Lovely ladies - mouse and maggie (met elsewhere) a hello to you too

I have to greet people at work when they come in for an interview. I always shake their hands! Wouldn't do to hug them!!!

Let the continental cousins do what they like; a true Btitisher will give a firm handshake. All this poncey mwah mwah kissing, and hugging is for ladymen.
