Inside the glove compartment of the car, he heard his mobile phone ringing. Windlass ran round to the passenger door to get his phone from the glove box. Funny, he thought, I don't remember leaving it there!

The remains of melted cat was spreading across to the passenger seat, corroding everything it touched. Windlass reached his phone just in time.
