As the ravaged, blood soaked body of the cat was hurled onto the windscreen by a Rottweiler, Windlass raced off, tyres screeching, still wearing his jim jams.

But he jammed on his brakes when he saw that the dead cat was melting to a green liquid, melting the car windscreen.

A green blob of liquid dropped from the cat and fell through the melting windscreen onto the driver's seat, just between his legs
