Useful article here: news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7982327.stmExcerpt:
To help remember a Pin of 1580, for example, he suggests imagining walking into the bank carrying a candle, standing in a queue behind a snake, and seeing a snowman bouncing a football behind the counter.
"It's surprisingly easy when you get into it," says Mr Pridmore.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can usually remember pin numbers it is telephone numbers I forget
My way is to break the number down in to two or more parts So
01234733515 becomes 01234 -733515 or 01234 -733 -515

Prashna Ah, the dreaded Pin numbers why do they even have to be there in the first place I have no problem remembering phone numbers, names or recalling faces or conversations had ages ago, but the Pin numbers of different cards usually drive me a little crazy Imagine standing behind a snake in a queue ?? I won't be anywhere near that creepy reptillian ;D Thanks for the link Prashna, was interesting to read. Regards nirakara

Hagen comments.:-All my PIN'S except one are the same and it's the calibre of a rifle cartridge so very easy to remember.
The one that is different has my Mothers Birthday, so that's also easy to remember.
However I have heard about this idea of associating numbers with other things in the past and a Buddy of mine took it seriously and he really could remember all sorts of things.

Indeed, Hagen Association is a very powerful tool. And of course, it's always : horses for courses. So if rifle calibres work for you, why not? Another may find other associations more to their taste; e.g. flowers, animals, places. Each to their own, I say. However, memory training however fascinating or even useful is only part of the story. I believe that sich memory training is actually encouraging the form meaningful links and such links are the way the the brain works. Thus I believe that actively encouraging the brain to form such links helps it to remain more active for longer, which has many ramifications; far beyond mere PIN's. Regards. Prashna
