The boss of Britain's largest energy company today warned that the country could face blackouts thanks to an investigation into the Big Six suppliers. Sam Laidlaw, chief executive of British Gas's parent company Centrica, suggested the probe would deter investment in infrastructure and delay the construction of new power stations. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2590628/Boss-Britains-largest-energy-firm-Centrica-warns-mass-blackouts-investigation-Big-Six-providers-announced.htmlWhat he's really saying of course is that if they can't carry on making enormous profits they'll pull the plug. Solution? Renationalise the utility companies and either let the state keep the profits to reduce our tax bills or lower the prices. That way everyone gains, not the foreign companies trying to blackmail us.
