That's so sad. No respect for human life. I wonder whether she'd have felt the same way had her son been the victim.

It's hard sometimes not to despair at what this country has become. Our priorities are all askew. We bend over backwards to accommodate the demands of vociferous minorities (even when these demands conflict with our traditional values); we refuse to sanction in any meaningful way those who break our laws; we have no control over our borders; we put the grossly misused HRA and its implementation before the rights of victims of crime, and we stand back and do nothing when the social fabric of the nation is moulded into something alien to most of us.
If I were a younger man, I would be seriously considering moving out!

Most of the 250,000 (Approx.) who are leaving are indigenous British who feel the same way as you do.

They would also be holding memorial services in his memory twenty tears after His death

There used to be a great hue and cry in this country about frivolous lawsuits, but there's little said lately. It's just SOP to immediately start contacting lawyers and filing suits when there is property damage and/or personal injury to self or family members, pets, wild birds on the property ... squirrels in the trees and mice in the fields.
There is seldom a mention of frivolous law suits anymore. Aside from insurance companies, there are too many people making too much money via the legal process and payouts. Sad.

I don’t know what it’s like in America but here at least once a week I have a phone call from some one with an Asian accent Saying they understand that I have had a car accident in the last three years Which I have not

The pro-active lawyers and insurance agents here will try a scam from time to time. Good for a grin. Where do they get the idea we're so gullible?

I'm sure that's true. I read a comment by someone (wish I could remember who .. someone with a recognizable name) that 94% of Americans are not very socially or intellectually sophisticated.
That sounds just about right to me. Not many, percentage wise, consider themselves "children of the world" .. just children of the Engleberts (whoever) right up the road with interests totally confined to their familiar surrounds .. and that's the way they like it.
A few will perk up over the next two years for elections or some TV event, but most don't really want to take time from local interests and intrigues.
Not sure it's the same on your side of the pond. JMO, from here.
