What Is Your Favourite Holiday Destination
I don’t necessarily mean the name of an actual place just the type
For me it is somewhere away from where the tourists flock which is unspoilt by commercialism If there are old ruins like castles so much the better
I also like steam railways but they attract the tourists

Next June I am going to Wales; haven't been there since I was a child (and it rained as I recall)! I also like places of interest - historic buildings etc. I've been to Rome - wonderful place, can't recommend it enough; Florence also fab and Venice - amazing!

Rome, now there is a city. A sight in every corner, the fountains, the sculptures, the paintings, the buildings - a week even is not enough to savour them all. Venice is nice or better still, Stockholm, the Venice of the North. Paris, despite being overrun by Muslims. Sydney for its combo, the coathanger walk in the evening looking at the lit-up Opera House. And so many other sights besides. Christchurch, NZ for its quiet walks. Bangkok for its buzz Singapore for its orchids, butterflies and cleanliness - and the street food. Las Vegas for its lights NY for its energy San Francisco where I left my heart (contrary to popular belief, I do suffer from one) like so many before me The Grand Canyon for its.... grandeur? Better stop now. Prashna

Just booked a holiday to Lisbon in February. The apartment is in the centre of the old town, walking distance to everything!!! Can't wait.

Toby comments.:- I live in a small town which is rather quiet, people don't bother me, I used to live in Japan and if you don't like people then stay away from Japan because it is so crowded and busy !
