This is what I would like to see less of
A lot less football, and why do we have to have half an hour of waffle before and after the match?
Fewer Quizzes, and talent shows
Fewer American Films
Fewer and shorter commercial breaks
There is far too much back ground music Which also Far too often it drown out the speech
Less Terry Wogan
No more Big Brother or rubbish like it
Fewer soaps
This is what I would like to see more of
British films
Natural History programmes
Captions at the bottom of the screen that our in contrast to the back ground All too often we have light captions on a light back ground , and dark on a dark background
Quality drama programmes
More documentaries and programmes like Time Team

Lots of people like football, though Peter, surely you accept that people need a variety of things and the TV should try and cater for everybody. The adverts pay for the programmes, though. If you want quaility drama that costs over a half a million pounds an hour to make, more if you want better qualitity. Those adverts really need to be deen by lots of people if they are to pay for good stuff. Documentaries are really expensive too, esp the natural history ones.

A long list there, Peter. Lots of people like football, though Peter, surely you accept that people need a variety of things and the TV should try and cater for everybody. Of course RV a lot of people do like football and we should also have a variety of different programmes on TV Including those who want it But it does seem to me that both ITV and the BBC go way over the top in advertising it And when it over runs making the following programmes run late that really does annoy me when I want to watch one of these programmes Some time ago I wanted to watch a film so as I was going to be out set the recorder giving it an extra recording time to allow for any over run of the football The next evening when I sat down to watch it, it was clear that the extra time was no where near enough and the tape recording stopped before the film was anywhere near the end Alright the film was shown a gain later But supposing it had been a topically documentary Their would not have been much point in showing it again weeks later Lets have a channel only for football and those who want it can watch it all day While those of us who have no interest can avoid it Personally I would prefer to pay extra to have high quality programmes rather than have mass appeal trip like Big Brother funded by adverts
