I thought it might be an idea to have a thread highlighting the collective lunacy of the UK.
A convicted terrorist who plotted an attack in the UK has been caught trying to travel to Syria, it emerged last night. The fanatic – part of a suicide bomb plot – had only recently been freed from jail after serving a lengthy sentence. Officials stopped him as he tried to leave Britain for Turkey, which is the route commonly taken by extremists heading to Syria to fight alongside al-Qaeda. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2560910/Terrorist-jailed-UK-suicide-bomb-plot-caught-trying-Syria.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490So we release an enemy of the state who has plotted to murder our citizens and give him a passport to enable to go to another country to fight for a group who also want to murder our citizens? I think that shows a certain degree of mental imbalance.

Should have let him go but not let him back in again. Let him live in Syria.

The obvious solution, Maggie. Chuck him out, and don't let him back in. But TOO obvious for the morons running this sad country of ours!

Today's news from the asylum.A council is planning to spend £2.5million on a traveller site for just 13 caravans - which will cost as much as the average first time buyer spends to get on the property ladder. Bath and North East Somerset Council will spend £190,000 on each pitch on the green belt site while neighbouring properties sell for just £160,000. Opposition councillors have slammed the project and insisted it would be cheaper to buy properties for gypsies to live in. The travellers moved onto the council-owned site without permission five years ago. Once the building work is finished, each one of the 13 secluded spots on the green belt site will have its own driveway and street lighting. The entire site will also be surrounded with soundproofing to block out noise from the nearby road and railway so the travellers can get a good night's sleep. www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2562091/Council-plans-blow-2-5-MILLION-travellers-site-caravans-driveway-lighting-soundproofing-cost-190-000-MORE-houses-street.htmlSo there you are, if you can't afford to buy a home and can't rent one, buy an old caravan, become a pikey, park illegally on someone else's land and then get luxury camping for free. All courtesy of Bath council tax payers.

Why the preferential treatment for travellers? If the council is willing to spend £190,000 on each pitch when properties sell for just £160,000 what about other people who need housing?

More news from the Asylum .Migrant criminals escape community sentences because 'their English is not good enough'
MIGRANT criminals are escaping community sentences, like unpaid gardening work, by claiming their English is too poor to understand health and safety instructions
The practice was exposed yesterday when Romanian, Simon Calin, avoided justice because he was unable to follow basic advice, sparking fury among campaigners opposed to mass UK immigration Read the full story

And yet we are told these people are here to work. If they can't understand health and safety instructions they won't be able to do any work at all. Mind you, I shouldn't think they'll have a problem when it comes to filling in benefit forms. The DWP will provide an interpreter at our expense.

Exactly my thoughts if interpreters can be provided to help them fill in ten claims form they can be provided to explain the Health and Safely regulations Besides when they are on community services surely, they must be supervised by someone who does know the HSR and who is able to explain them If these people really can’t understand the HSR they certainly will not be able to understand the more complex ones if they find employment

And in the latest case from the asylum today we have the unbelievable news that ............. Police refuse to treat armed robber as suspect in case it breaches his human rights
Police say law prevents them from regarding knife-wielding robber as a suspect - instead, man in picture is merely "man they would like to speak with" Police asking for the public to identify an armed robber whose face was completely concealed aren't treating him as a suspect in case it breaches his human rights. The man pulled down a black woollen beanie hat over his face so it was completely hidden before raiding a Labdrokes betting shop in West Moors, Dorset. Although nothing whatsoever can be seen of his face, optimistic police are asking people to help identify the seemingly unrecognisable man in CCTV images. And despite the fact the man is wearing the makeshift mask and wielding a knife, the police confirmed the law prevented them from regarding him as a suspect. Instead, the person in the pictures is merely 'a man they would like to speak with' about the armed robbery. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/crime/10673310/Police-refuse-to-treat-armed-robber-as-suspect-in-case-it-breaches-his-human-rights.htmlSo although he's obviously a suspect he mustn't be called a suspect in case it breaches his human rights. We can but hope it doesn't eventually get to the ECHR at a cost of millions in legal aid.

The police should charge the doctors with withholding information about a criminal offence or assisting an offender by withholding information.
